About

Seeing the Forest from the trees is a blog about life, theology, culture and mission. I think the challenges in the current discussions are to grapple with both the big picture of God’s word, the Bible and the big picture of your local culture.
Hi, my name is Brett Peatman and I am a Christian who seeks to live my life following my Lord Jesus Christ. I grew up and studied in Sydneyand now have the privilege of serving God as the assistant minister at St. Mark’s Anglican Forest Hill in Eastern Melbourne, Australia. I have always been involved in Anglican Churches and appreciate much of the depths of the Anglican tradition but also see the need to engage the context God has placed me with the good news of Jesus. I am married to Alyson and have three children; Timothy (5), Emily (4) and Angus (1).
Since I became a Christian at 15 I have sought to work out how following Jesus should impact every area of life. I am convinced that a Biblical theology can help us work out how to live in God’s universe and seek to reflect on life from that perspective. I am conscious that I am far from perfect and appreciate all comments and feedback that are given with respect. The views here are none other than my own and are subject to revision as time goes on.
This blog aims to discuss what it is to follow Jesus living a life of mission. If you want a box for me, I am a reformed evangelical Christian and that I want to treat the Bible as the word of God, in authority over all other possibilities. I am also keen to be open minded and want to see where knowing God cuts deep into my life, loves and passions.
Thanks for checking this out. Please feel free to send me feed back or any questions you have.
Brett.
